This movie/ TV show had the possibility of ALIENS greatness, it had the effects, producer, production qualities and budget, but it was poorly written and the bad characters were just stupid, people should have been coordinating for survival against an alien and not squabbling among themselves – this should have been man V alien, not man v alien v man.

This is where the movie started to unravel for me, they are a military team but they never had cohesion and Locke really wasn’t much of a leader. Their is the loner guy, the guy who even though he is part of a military team will kill his best friend for survival, all of them are uncompassionate. HALO NIGHTFALL | SALTY POPCORN REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY | LOCKE (MIKE COLTER)īut the rest of the characters might have well have been two dimensional stock characters in B-grade sci-fi. I also enjoyed the character Macer (Christina Chong), young, naive, out of her depth but willing to give it a shot and test her limits, these two I liked. A man I would follow happily, also if you have seen THE GOOD WIFE, you know never to cross him :).
I love the lead guy, Locke (Mike Colter from THE GOOD WIFE), he is kind of like a Cisco from DEEP SPACE NINE – a leader with strength and a distinguished voice. It is by no means the best or the worst in the game to movie franchise, I would compare to a decent Star Trek episode and for me this is a good thing – even bad Trek eps are fun to watch. As they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artefact, they will be forced to fight for their survival, question everything and ultimately choose between their loyalty and their lives. Halo: Nightfall tells the dramatic story of legendary man hunter and Naval Intelligence Officer Jameson Locke and his team as they are caught in a horrific biological attack while investigating terrorist activity on the distant colony world of Sedra.

HALO NIGHTFALL originally was a five part web series produced by Ridley Scott, it was made as a bridging movie between the games Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians (out this year sometime) and it was made with a big budget and grand ambition. HALO NIGHTFALL is the next instalment to this list.
I look back at the long list of movies made from computer games and the majority of the list is quite a disappointing reflection on half-arsed cinematic storytelling that could have been made much much better with better directors, less studio interference and screenwriters willing to go too far, to take things up a notch. Animated movies that look like real movies with action and high intensity everything from another level. Movies from computer games, they should be awesome, those graphic parts you watch when playing the games are now so high definition they are getting close to movies without people.
